Professional facilitation and support for the work

Maximising the use of these talking toys, GRN are blessed by the work of Melody, our trained counsellor based in South Africa. With extensive experience in trauma care and working with the elderly, Melody is uniquely equipped to connect with and support those making use of these tools. Her work includes:

• Reaching out to schools, orphanages, children’s homes, trauma centres, hospitals, and aged‑care facilities.

• Training caregivers and workers to respond to trauma, and cognitive decline
• Providing a helpline for those using the toys who need additional support
• Providing ongoing phone counselling and support to trauma workers, teachers, aged‑care staff, nurses, and communities affected by poverty or disaster
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of how they are used and refining training and support.

GRN is seeking to fund the work of Melody, our trained counsellor in South Africa, for a period of 12 months, as well as the distribution of 300 Tumis and Colins throughout South Africa. The total cost of the project is AUD$46,500, with approximately 30% of the funds being used for the toys and 70% Melody’s allowance. With her insight and frontline contact so vital for our effective response to human suffering, we are seeking to raise her monthly support to ensure her to continue this work. Melody’s human touch ensures our recordings are not just audio — they are practical, comforting, and life‑changing resources for those who need them most.
