An Ongoing GRN Project

GRN has been recording the Bible in the indigenous languages of Australia for many decades. Help GRN record indigenous Australian languages so people in northern Australia can hear about Jesus in their heart language.

Many portions of the Bible have been translated into Australian Aboriginal languages, but this does not mean that they are always accessible to speakers of those languages. Oral recordings of the Bible make these translations available to everyone, and when they are accessible through the 5fish phone app, this is even better.

Currently GRN is renewing its focus on the languages of Central Australia and Arnhem Land. Various stages of consultation, planning, and recording have been happening in different Indigenous languages in these regions. Close relationships, collaboration, and direction from Aboriginal people is essential for this work, which is why GRN relies on the connections of ministry partners in the field.

This work is of high importance as the great majority of the Indigenous languages that are spoken across three generations still have low proportions of their written Bible translations available as oral recordings.
